Man airlifted to hospital in serious Tiverton crash
A local man in his 40s - who was driving the VW was seriously injured
A man has been airlifted to hospital after a serious crash near Tiverton.
It happened yesterday (2 June) at around 1.30pm - and involved a black Volkswagen Golf and a red Peugeot Partner van on an unclassified road outside St Thomas Church in Chevithorne.
A local man in his 40s - who was driving the VW was seriously injured.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
In a statement, the force said: "Officers were called at around 1.30pm on Monday 2 June to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a black Volkswagen Golf and a red Peugeot Partner van on an unclassified road outside St Thomas Church, Chevithorne, Tiverton.
"As a result of the collision, the driver of the Volkswagen, a local man in his 40s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
"Officers would like to thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene.
"The road was reopened soon after 6.30pm.
