Live crabs scuttle across Devon train carriage - as police investigate
A group of teenagers are said to have tipped over a bucket of crabs
Passengers on an evening train from Teignmouth to Dawlish Warren in Devon experienced an unusual scene as dozens of live crabs were reported scuttling across the floor of a carriage.
The incident occurred on the 8.08pm service on Sunday, 2nd August.
According to reports, a group of teenagers allegedly kicked over a bucket carrying the crabs, resulting in the creatures spreading across the train.
Passengers were left watching as the crabs gathered in corners and were even said to be dropped in the train toilet.
Investigation Underway
The British Transport Police have confirmed that officers are investigating the release of the crabs.
A spokesperson from the BTP told us: "Officers are investigating following reports that a large number of live crabs were released on a train from Teignmouth to Dawlish Warren on Sunday (2 August).
"Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016, quoting reference 659 of 2 August."
