The Devon-based five-time world record holder Lexi Chambers has now started her latest challenge - doing 10 ultramarathons in 10 days in a non-sport wheelchair.

She's travelling from London to the opening women's rugby world cup match in Sunderland to raise money for the charity ChildFund Rugby and deliver the ‘whistle’.

The Exeter Chiefs' women's super-fan, who is also a ChildFund Rugby Ambassador, said: "I'm going to be carrying the Race to Women's rugby world cup whistle which is a massive honour for me as I'm a huge fan of women's rugby.

“One of the main reasons is to show people they can do what they want to do with what kit they have.

“All I had when I first started was my everyday non-sport wheelchair - a normal wheelchair that anyone would use for shopping or anything like that.

"I do what people call 'crazy challenges' using that same chair.

"I'm fundraising for ChildFund Rugby, they are a phenomenal charity who help people all over the globe, so young people and older women getting into coaching and they help them with more than just rugby itself but they help them with life skills as well."

ChildFund Rugby aims to reach and empower 500,000 young people worldwide by 2030, providing opportunities for them to play, learn, and lead through rugby.
