Multiple crews tackle large-scale fire in Kingsbridge industrial unit
Firefighters work to contain blaze and prevent spread to adjacent units
Fire crews from Kingsbridge and surrounding areas are currently attending to a significant fire within a commercial and industrial unit.
The incident was first reported at 2.47am on 29th August 2026, with the fire still ongoing as of the latest update.
Fire Control received several calls alerting them to a burning smell before crews identified an industrial unit, measuring 20 metres by 40 metres, engulfed in flames.

Responding to the severe nature of the blaze, the initial team requested an additional four fire engines to assist in managing the situation.
Firefighters are employing two 51ml attack jets, eight breathing apparatuses, and small tools to contain and extinguish the fire.
By 6:19am, efforts to prevent the fire’s spread to two nearby units proved successful.
Scaling down operations
Although the fire required a total of ten pumping appliances and specialized equipment initially, operations have since been scaled back significantly.
As of 7.50am, the incident response had reduced to four pumping appliances, with crews now focused on dampening down hotspots to prevent any re-ignition.
Updates are expected to continue as firefighters work throughout the morning to ensure the area is secure.
