A kayaker who died after going missing in the River Exe in Tiverton has been named at an inquest as Ronald Mead.

The 40-year-old got into difficulty in the river near Great Western Bridge on Saturday 24th January.

His body was found five days later on January 29th and retrieved from the River Exe near Bickleigh.

The inquest into Mr Mead's death at Devon Coroners Court in Exeter was opened yesterday (February 17th) and has been adjourned.
