Georgeham thatch fire: crews confirm blaze is 'fully out'

Fire crews have confirmed a major blaze in Devon yesterday has been extinguished - nearly 24 hours after it broke out.
Yesterday, a dozen engines were rushed to the scene in Georgeham.

In an update this morning (25 March), Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to an incident in Georgeham on Monday 24 March at 10:43am.
"Upon arrival the roof running across two thatched cottages was well alight.
"Our crews, along with 12 pumps, worked to put out the fire and a road closure was in place to ensure safety.
"We used two main jets to tackle this fire, as well as breathing apparatus, which was fully out by around 08:30 this morning (25 March). The cause the fire is currently unknown."
