Firefighters tackle gorse fires on Exmoor
Fire crews were called to two separate fires involving gorse on West Anstey Common
Fire crews have tackled two gorse fires on moorland in Exmoor.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to the fires on West Anstey Common at around 3:20pm yesterday (December 29).
There were two separate fires involving high gorse which totalled 60m.
Six crews attended the scene of the fires and a water bowser, beaters and hose reel jets were used to tackle the fire and stop it spreading.
The fire service said the fires were extinguished by 6pm.
