Fire service tackle solar panel blaze at Broad Clyst

The fire is believed to have covered an area of 300 x 500 metres.

Fire crews were called out to a location at Broad Clyst at around five to eleven this morning following multiple reports of fire rapidly spreading under solar panels.

According to the fire service, the area of the fire covered roughly 300 x 500 metres. A total of ten fire engines were in attendance after the initial crews called for back-up.

Four hose reel jets, a drone, a water bowser and beaters were used to put out the fire.

The fire service have confirmed the fire is out and crews have left the scene.
