Person airlifted to hospital after falling over cliffs in Exmouth
Emergency services were called to the scene in Sandy Bay on Tuesday
A person's been airlifted to hospital after falling over the cliffs at Sandy Bay.
Exmouth Coastguard Rescue Team, alongside colleagues from Beer Coastguard Rescue Team, Devon Air Ambulance and South Western Ambulance Service were all called to the scene on Tuesday 28th July.
With the help of Range Vessel Smit Cerne and RNLI Exmouth Exmouth ILB, the casualty was found and both Coastguard Rescue Teams began to set up cliff rescue equipment.
After scene assessment the pilot and crew decided air evacuation was possible and the casualty was successfully airlifted to hospital, with rope rescue in place as a plan B.
This was the Coastguard's second tasking to a cliff incident in 2 days.
They're urging people to exercise extreme caution when walking with or without dogs on the cliffs.
