A Devon Citizens Advice say they hope to have an update soon on long-term plans to keep the charity going.

Last year supporters of the Exeter branch helped raise more than £23,000.

Chief Exec Sue Julyan said: "We continue to campaign and look for funding, we are remaining open and still helping clients -we've got our drop in two mornings a week.

"Demand hasn't gone although our funding has, and we are on a mission to plug the gap and we continue to remain positive - everybody's very much behind us and people say they don't know how they'll manage if we're not there.

"We've got a lot of support and for that we're very thankful."

Last year the charity helped more than 6,000 people in the city , with bosses urging Exeter City Council to keep supporting them
