Line reopens after discovery of wartime bomb found near railway

The discovery of a wartime bomb between St Budeaux Victoria Road and Bere Ferrers means the train line has been closed today (10 June).

National Rail have confirmed that lines have since reopened, but there's a warning that trains running between Plymouth and Gunnislake may continue to be cancelled.

We're told disruption is expected until 15:30.

In an update on social media earlier, Great Western Railway said: "Due to a wartime bomb near the railway between St Budeaux Victoria Road and Bere Ferrers the line is closed.

"Train services between Plymouth and Gunnislake via Bere Alston will be cancelled.

"Disruption is expected until 12:45

"Check your journey at http://gwr.com/check and follow us for updates.

"If you arrive at your destination 15 minutes or more later than planned, you can claim compensation at http://delayrepay.gwr.com."
