Devon and Cornwall Police step up patrols for Bank Holiday weekend
It is expected to be the busiest weekend of the year
Devon and Cornwall Police are stepping up operations this Bank Holiday weekend, to tackle and prevent antisocial behaviour.
The August Bank Holiday is expected to have been the busiest weekend of the year so far.
Acting Superintendent Chris Conway, Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "It's the busiest weekend of the year for Devon and Cornwall Police as a whole.
"We're really keen that everybody has a good weekend and enjoys the good weather that comes out over the next couple of days.
"Along with an increase in numbers and population, that does mean the police are going to be really busy and we're going to have lots of calls into our control centre."
Devon and Cornwall Police are urging anyone who sees any crime or incidents over the Bank Holiday weekend to report it to the force.
Mr Conway added: "We've got different types of additional patrols over the course of this weekend.
"In the evenings, historically we've had unlicensed music events which are commonly known as raves. They tend to occur over Bank Holiday weekends so we have extra resource on those sites where we've previously seen those issues."
