Police have closed off a Devon beach after human bones were found on Saturday.

Devon and Cornwall Police say officers were called at 2.50pm on Saturday 11 October to Saunton Sands Beach following the discovery of human bones.

Enquires are on going and police say a scene guard remains in place while the items are recovered.

The bones will be examined by a forensic archaeologist to determine their age.
