Dartmouth Food Festival has cancelled some of it's outdoor events planned for Friday due to Storm Austen.

The first named storm of the season, is expected to affect south-west England on Friday(23 October) – with an amber warning for wind issued in Cornwall, Devon and the Isles of Scilly from 1am.

The festival's directors said all outdoor events and exhibitors trading under canvas on Friday will be cancelled and "normal business" will continue on Saturday morning.

Events taking place at the Flavel, Dartmouth Yacht Club, The Sail Loft, Browns Hotel and the Flavel Church will continue as planned.

The directors said the decision was made after careful consideration.

They said in a statement: "This is a decision we have not taken lightly.

"However the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in the Food Festival - our visitors, exhibitors, volunteers, presenters and event teams, is our highest priority."

The festival has also thanked everyone for their understanding and support.
