Cyclist taken to hospital after suspected hit and run in Plymouth
Police were called to Embankment Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A cyclist has suffered serious injuries after a collision involving a car in Plymouth in the early hours of the morning.
Emergency services were called to Embankment Road at around 03.40am after reports of a road traffic collision.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries, although they are not thought to be life threatening at this time.
Police say that the car did not remain at the scene.
A man in his 30s from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion causing serious injury by careless driving, driving a vehicle when alcohol level above the limit and of failing to stop after a road accident. He remains in police custody.
Local road closures were introduced during the morning rush-hour as Police continued their investigation.
No further arrests have been made.
