A gorse fire on Exmoor- at Little Hangman in Combe Martin, near to Ilfracombe- could be seen for miles, as the fire service worked quickly to put it out.
Emergency services were called to the blaze between Hangman Hills and Holdstone yesterday evening (2nd February) at around 5:30pm, where fire fighters found up to 300 metres of thick gorse alight.
The fire service tell us they believe it to have been accidental, and not potential arson.
The blaze was then fueled by strong winds.
A spokesperson for Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "At 5.35pm yesterday (2nd February) we got called to Little Hangman at Combe Martin where 2-300 metres of thick gorse was alight and the fire was being driven by the wind.
"Two fire crews attended and use beaters to extinguish the fire."
