A car has crashed into a building near Dartmouth’s lower ferry.
It happened yesterday morning (18 May) - on the South Embankment.
It was at a building near where vehicles wait to board the ferry.
In a statement on social media yesterday, South Hams District Council said: "If you are using Dartmouth’s lower ferry today, please be aware that queues may be longer than usual following an accident on the South Embankment.
"A car has hit a building near where vehicles wait to board the ferry. Traffic is being diverted around the accident.
"Please be patient whilst waiting to board the lower ferry and drive with caution along the South Embankment.
"Both the lower and upper ferries continue to operate as normal."
Police have confirmed that they have made an arrest.
Devon and Cornwall Police added: "We were called at around 1.45am on Sunday 18 May following a report of a vehicle colliding with a property wall on South Embankment in Dartmouth.
"The vehicle’s occupants left the scene following the collision.
"A 25-year-old man from Dartmouth was located and arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink, dangerous driving and driving without third party insurance. He has since been released on bail."
