A fire at a property in Oxclose, Yeoford has resulted in the discovery of a body on a balcony.

Emergency services were called to the location at around 1.40pm on Sunday, 2nd August.

They attended in a joint response to the reported fire, where a body was found.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but police believe the deceased is a local man in his 50s.

Investigations into the fire's cause are ongoing, though it is understood that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A scene guard remains in place, and members of the public are requested to refrain from visiting the area to respect the family's privacy and allow the emergency services to continue their investigation work.
