Investigation launched after baby injured in Plymouth

An 18-year-old man has been arrested and released on police bail

Detectives are investigating an incident in Plymouth where a two-month-old baby was injured during a disturbance.

Officers were called to the Prince Rock area shortly after midnight on 1st January to reports of an altercation involving a group of people.

Police attended Mainstone Avenue and Elliot Road, where they found the baby with injuries.

She was taken to Bristol Children’s Hospital, where her injuries were assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

An 18-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and has since been released on police bail.

Detectives are continuing their enquiries to understand the full details of what happened.
