Arrest after knifepoint robbery in Plymouth

Police are appealing for information and footage following the incident

A man has been arrested after knifepoint robbery in Plymouth.

Police were called at 3.45am on Wednesday 29th October after receiving reports of a man with a knife in the street on Kit Hill Crescent in Barne Barton.

The suspect is alleged to have made threats to harm another man with the knife.

He is also believed to have approached a car, spoken to an occupant inside, stolen vehicle keys and left the scene.

No-one was injured during the incident.

A man in his 40s from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of robbery, attempted robbery, and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.

Investigating officers are now asking anyone who witnessed the events, or has information or relevant footage, to come forward.

Detective Constable Emily Tidy said: “Our enquiries are continuing into this incident and a man remains in police custody.

“We are urging any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch. We are particularly asking residents in the area to check their CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcams for any suspicious activity between 3.15am and 4am today.

“If you live in the area or were driving through and saw anything suspicious then we would urge you to please contact us.”
