Pilgrims boss Miron Muslić says the squad are readying themselves for what will be an explosive end to the season - as they host promotion-winning Leeds this weekend in the EFL Championship.

Earlier this week, he said how he’s still waiting for answers on the future of players - and the club’s structure - before he commits to next season - but spent May Day in front of the media for his weekly press conference.

He said: "We're preparing the game the same way we have for the last few weeks.

"We want to finish on a high, and as high as we can in this situation, and let's see if we can get a good result for the fans.

"We want to reward the supporters for such a strong season on their behalf - we're in it for them."

Plymouth Argyle are all but down, though, as they host league leaders Leeds on Saturday.

They'd need to overturn a 14 goal deficit, and other results to go their way, in order to avoid the drop.

Posting on X, Muslić said: "I have fallen in love with the football club from when I had my first experience of it in London all those months ago.

"Today in my press conference, I was over passionate with emotions still running high from our imminent relegation to League One and how much I care for Argyle and the Green Army and how committed I am to the club and its future.

"I want the best for Argyle and we are all frustrated with what’s happened but now we need to put it right.

"We are all in this together and I look forward to seeing you all at Home Park on Saturday."

It comes as Devon and Cornwall Police has issued advice for supporters heading to the match.

Leeds will be backed by a sold out away end as they try to secure the title, whilst they say that many ticketless Leeds fans are also expected to make the long journey south.

Officers are expecting thousands of Leeds fans to travel to Devon over the Bank Holiday weekend for the 12.30pm kick-off and officers will be deployed in readiness for this.

And if you're thinking about having a drink, there's no venues near to the stadium for away fans - with the Britannia Inn the closest one for the home fans to Home Park.

Plymouth Argyle have released advice reminding supporters that it is a criminal offence to enter the pitch, and that those who chose to do so may risk potential prosecution.

There'll be an 'outer ring' to help with the security efforts tomorrow, and fans are advised to allow extra time to enter the stadium.

Any Argyle supporters who breach terms and conditions when selling tickets outside the club’s approved ticket resale method, risk having their ticketing account suspended.

'We hope all supporters enjoy the game'

Superintendent Emma Butler-Jones said: “We are expecting a large number of Leeds United fans in Devon as they hope to celebrate the league title.

“There will be a larger than usual police presence around the stadium to ensure that supporters of both teams are able to enjoy the match in a safe environment.

“Fans without tickets are advised to stay away from the stadium area as they will not gain access.

“There are no pubs for away fans within walking distance of the stadium, but visiting supporters will be able to gain access to the away area several hours before kick-off.

“We hope all supporters enjoy the game.”
