Appeal for witnesses after serious assault in Plymstock

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information, after an assault in Plymstock, which left a man with significant injuries.

The incident happened at around 1.30pm, on Saturday (15 August), at the Dean Cross junction traffic lights.

A man in his 40s was stopped at the lights in his car, when another vehicle pulled up and blocked his path.

The male driver of the second vehicle got out and struck the victim’s car with a metal bar, smashing several windows.

The victim sustained injuries to his face, head and arm, during the incident.

He managed to drive away from the scene and call for help, before being taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment.

Officers believe the two men are known to each other.

They are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or was driving in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage.
