Man dies in fatal single-vehicle collision on A38 near Bickington

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed a man in his 80s had been killed

A man has died following a fatal single-vehicle collision on the A38 in Devon, police have said.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to an incident taking place on the A38 near Bickington at around 4:25pm on Saturday afternoon (May 31st).

When officers arrived, they found that a silver BMW estate had come off the road and crashed.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and found that a man in his 80s from Exeter had suffered serious injuries.

The man was treated for his injuries, but officers have since confirmed that he has since lost his life; his next of kin has been informed.

Following the incident, the A38 was closed for forensic investigations while emergency services carried out enquiries. The road has now reopened.

Now, officers have launched an appeal for information and witnesses, urging anyone who may have seen anything to get in touch.
