A new film's been released celebrating the past 50 years of live music in Torbay.

It celebrates performances by super-stars like The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Clash, Cream and The Who right down to local groups like Pipeline who've just reformed.

Created by local film-Maker John Tomkins, the film features more than 100 interviewees, aged 13 to 90, telling the 50 year story across Torquay, Paignton and Brixham of live music between 1975 and 2025.

He said: "The entire impetus for me was to make a film to put the Torbay Music scene on the map and place to visit and see music from across the UK - because the music scene is so massive in Torbay."

The film, which will be screen at remaining live music venues to help give them a boost covers genres from dance, folk, blues, 80s Synth pop and punk music through to open mic nights and memories of the Radio One roadshows.

It aims to showcase the culture of live music and preserve many of the local stories.

Local group Pipeline have now reformed as a result of taking part in the film - and will be staging a series of shows to celebrate the past 25 years.
