Man taken to hospital with 'serious injuries' following 'disturbance' in Peebles

A 25-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a report of a disturbance in Peebles.
Emergency services were called out to the town's Northgate after the alarm was raised around 1am this morning (Saturday).
Police say two men, aged 31 and 41, have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
The road has been taped off, near the junction with the High Street, while officers stand guard at the scene.
And local bus services are being diverted.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1am on Saturday, we received a report of a disturbance in the area of Northgate, Peebles.
“Emergency services attended, and a 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with what are described as serious injuries.
“Two men, aged 31 and 41, have been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”

Borders Buses is apologising to its customers using the X62 service between Galashiels and Edinburgh for any inconvenience.
A spokesperson added: "Northgate in Peebles is currently closed due to a Police Incident.
"Our X62 services will use Edinburgh Road and omit Peebles' Eastgate and Northgate."
It's not the first time police have been called to the street in recent times.
Last month, we reported a 35-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being attacked by two men.
The incident took place outside a premises in the town's Northgate around 8.30pm on Sunday, February 22nd.
Police issued an appeal for information.
