Police say 'no trace' of man 'possibly in possession of a bladed weapon'

Police have confirmed they responded to a report of “a man, possibly in possession of a bladed weapon” in Kelso at the weekend.
But, when they arrived in the town’s Ednam Road shortly after 10pm on Saturday, there was “no trace of anything”.
It followed an earlier report on social media of a "guy with a knife running around Broomlands", near the primary school, with a balaclava on.
Officers say enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.10pm on Saturday, June 20th, we received a report of a man possibly in possession of a bladed weapon in the Ednam Road area of Kelso.
“Officers attended and carried out a search of the area however there was no trace of anything ongoing.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
