A woman's been airlifted to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on the A6105 in the Scottish Borders.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Nether Huntlywood Farm after the alarm was raised around 1.30pm this afternoon (Friday).

As well as fire appliances from Kelso, Galashiels and Lauder, a heavy rescue vehicle from Sighthill Fire Station in Edinburgh was also summoned.

Two other people were taken to hospital, while Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance flew the injured woman to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh.

Phone footage shows the helicopter landing in the snow to reach the incident.

The road was closed between Earlston and Gordon while the scene was made safe and the wreckage was cleared.

Meanwhile, drivers are being warned to take extra care on the coastal road between Seahouses and Bamburgh.

Northumberland County Council says its teams are aware of flooding and are looking to deploy a pump in the area to control the water running off the fields.

It adds: "The road is still passable with care."

Elsewhere, Wooler First School, Glendale Middle School, and Little Acorns Nursery closed early today due to flooding.

The failure of an underfloor pipe is being blamed.

Northumbrian Water say they need to shut off the water supply to make the repair.
