Man, 46, arrested following disturbance in Hawick

A 46-year-old man has been arrested following a disturbance in Hawick.

According to police, officers attended the Anderson Place area of town in connection with a warrant, around 10.15am this morning (Thursday), when the situation unfolded.

Locals have reported a large response by the emergency services, with police and ambulances in attendance.

Officers say enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.15am on Thursday, officers attended Anderson (Place), Hawick in connection with a warrant.

"A disturbance followed and a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
