Huge waves spark safety fears at Berwick Pier
It's a popular sight-seeing spot and has provided stunning backdrops for postcards and TV shows.
While the lighthouse is not open to the public, the walk to the end of the pier in Berwick boasts outstanding views of Northumberland's most northerly town.
But a warning's been issued to public to use common sense, and consider avoiding, when the weather is bad.
It comes after people were pictured on the pier as huge waves pummeled the sea wall.
That has prompted concerns someone could be swept over - sparking an emergency response.

Berwick Port shared video footage of this afternoon's stormy weather on its Facebook page.
"These folks show no consideration for safety and of those who may have to be called out to save them," a spokesperson stated.
"When the weather is bad, please act responsibly when using the pier."
And, they added: "Please use some common sense!"
The plea has been widely welcomed by locals posting on their page.
"Utterly irresponsible," one said. "These people have no idea of the power of the sea. One of these days somebody is going to be washed into the estuary. It's an accident waiting to happen sadly."
Another added: "Completely agree. Some people in the RNLI may have to brave their lives as a result."
A third said: "You shouldn't be allowed on the pier full stop in weather like that."
