Man charged by police in connection with stabbing outside York hotel

A man has been charged after a stabbing outside a hotel in the Peasholm Green area of York on Thursday (October 9th).
North Yorkshire Police were alerted to an incident taking place outside the Moxy Hotel in the city on Thursday, after reports that a man had been stabbed.
Officers have now confirmed that a 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with a section 18 wounding and two counts of possessing a bladed article.
The suspect, who has not been named by police, will appear before York Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning (October 11th).
Speaking on the case, Detective Superintendent Graeme Wright from North Yorkshire Police said the victim was continuing to recover from his injuries.
"Although the victim still remains in hospital, I’m pleased to say that he is recovering well from treatment," Wright said.
“I would like to thank the public for assisting with our enquiries following the appeal made on Thursday.
“This was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the community”.
