The Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death in Willesden Green.

Officers were alerted to an incident taking place on Linacre Road in northwest London just after 4:15am on Saturday morning (December 28th).

When responders arrived on the scene shortly afterwards, they found that a man had suffered serious stab wounds, with emergency medical services being called to the scene.

The London Ambulance - along with the Air Ambulance - arrived at the scene shortly after, but despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead as he was being taken to hospital.

Formal identification is yet to take place, but officers have said they are confident that the victim was a man in his 30s.

The force are now looking to identify the victim's next of kin, where they will be supported by specially trained officers.

A police cordon remains in place, with Linacre Road continuing to remain closed while investigations take place and evidence is gathered.

Currently, no arrests have been made by the Metropolitan Police, but enquiries into the death are ongoing.

Anyone who has any relevant information about the case is being urged to come forward as soon as possible.

Those who may be able to help officers in their investigations can do so by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 1013/28DEC.
