A man who was injured in a mass stabbing on a train in Huntingdon has received a standing ovation at Nottingham Forest.

Lifelong Reds fan, Stephen Crean, 61, was stabbed on the LNER service from Doncaster to London on 1 November. He was returning home following the Reds' match against Manchester United.

He returned to City Ground yesterday where he was honoured with a walk across the pitch and a standing ovation from the fans.

Nottingham Forest said on social media: "Recognising the courage and bravery of our fellow supporters who were caught up in the shocking train attack on November 1.

Our thoughts remain with everyone affected."

Mr Crean watched Nottingham Forest beat Leeds 3-1 from the directors' box.

There have been calls for Mr Crean to be given a George Cross - the highest civilian award for bravery.
