Police searching for suspect after man found in critical condition in Exmouth

An investigation is underway into a suspected attack in Exmouth, which has left a man in a critical condition.

Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed they were called alongside paramedics soon after midnight today (Saturday 13th December 2025), after a man was found seriously injured in Church Street.

The man was taken to Derriford Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

His family have been informed.

A cordon is in place on Church Street, as police carry out enquiries at the scene.

Detective Sergeant Ben Cartwright from Devon and Cornwall Police said:

“We have a large police presence in the area and enquiries are ongoing to locate and arrest the suspect.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the wider public.”
