Officers arrested 140 people on Sunday at the event in west London
Thousands of people are expected to turn out for the final day of Notting Hill Carnival with the adults parade due to kick off in west London later.
The Met Police are warning anyone planning to go along to cause trouble that violence will not be tolerated.
As of 7.45pm last night, 140 people were arrested on day two of the three-day event.
The force tells us 105 arrests were made at the carnival itself, with a further 35 on the approached to the event as part of their proactive policing interventions.
Of those 35 arrests, 13 were made following positive identifications using live facial recognition.
The total arrests were made in connection with a number of suspected offences including: Assault on police, possession of weapons, possession of drugs, robbery and sexual offences.
The Met has confirmed one officer required hospital treatment for injuries to their hand after being assaulted.
Additional policing powers
Additional police powers will be in force from 10am this morning ahead of the final day of celebrations.
The Section 60 order gives officers to powers to search people in a specified area for weapons or dangerous items without needing to have reasonable suspicion.
It's used to prevent violence or disorder.
Officers can also use the order to require people to remove face coverings where they are being worn mainly to conceal their identity.
The force says it's to prevent intimidation, violence and disorder.
Refusing to remove a face covering if required to do so by an officer can lead to arrest.
A dispersal order has also been issued for the same area at the same times to give officers the power to order someone to leave the area and not return for up to 48 hours.
