Woman found dead in Fern Hill home, prompting extensive police inquiry

A man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody following the discovery of a woman's body at a property on Fern Hill in Dersingham.

Police made the arrest on Sunday, 4th October, and have been granted a superintendent’s extension, allowing an additional 12 hours for questioning.

The incident, reported by the ambulance service shortly after 2:20am, led to the immediate response of officers who pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The arrested man, in his 40s, was taken to King's Lynn Police Investigation Centre.

Detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team are conducting thorough investigations.

Detective Inspector Alix Wright commented, “We are in the very early stages of this investigation working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.”

Police are appealing for any witnesses or individuals with relevant information to contact Norfolk Police, referencing incident number 27 of 4th October 2026.

A police cordon remains in place as the investigation continues.
