Morecambe are returning to action today, after a takeover was completed - ending uncertainty about the football club's future.

The first game of the Panjab Warriors era is at home to Altrincham in the National League in a 12.30pm kick off.

The club also have a new manager in charge. Ashvir Singh Johal was appointed on Tuesday to replace Derek Adams, who was sacked from the job the day before.

Speaking on his appointment, Ashvir said:

“The immediate priority right now is going to be to identify the players that we need in this building to ensure Morecambe Football Club can perform well in the National League.”

Joel Shooter is from Morecambe's supporters group the Shrimps Trust.

He's told us he's happy to be back watching his club - and today's result is irrelevant:

"I'm massively relieved and happy that this sorry saga in the club's history is finally coming to an end.

"It'll be great to get back to the Mazuma and get behind the team, especially the players who stuck it out.

"Hopefully we can show our gratitude and make it a great atmosphere."

Morecambe have also announced a new signing ahead of the game.
