Man injured in Dorchester collision dies

A man who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Dorchester has sadly died.

Dorset Police received a report at 7.35am on Friday (16 May) of a collision in Bridport Road involving a white Fiat Panda and a bicycle.

Emergency services attended and the cyclist – a man aged in his 50s – was taken to Southampton Hospital in a serious condition.

He died in hospital on yesterday evening (17 May). His family has been informed.

Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died following this collision.

“We owe it to them to conduct a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who has not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.”
