Man charged with murder of woman in Clacton
A man in his 20s is accused of killing a woman in her 40s
Detectives investigating the murder of a woman in Clacton have today charged a man.
Officers were alerted to a woman having been seriously injured at a home in Skelmersdale Road in at 11.30am on Friday (21 March).
Local officers, ambulance crews and air ambulance attended.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone at the scene, the woman aged in her 40s died.
As part of the response to the incident, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder and initially taken to hospital with injuries sustained independent of this specific incident.
Yesterday, the man was discharged, and he was taken into custody.
Police have now been authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service to charge Oliver Grange, 24, of Skelmersdale Road, Clacton, with murder.
He was due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday 26 March.
