Delivery driver stabbed during robbery in Liverpool

A delivery driver is in a critical condition in hospital after being stabbed in Liverpool.

The man, who is in his 30s, was attacked in Dingle at around 02:00BST on Sunday (04 May).

Police are carrying out forensic investigations between Grafton Street and Robertson Street.

It is thought officers are still searching for a suspect.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: "We initially believe that this was a robbery in which the victim was targeted for his electric bike while he was working as a delivery driver.

"We will support the victim as the investigation continues.

"This incident has left the victim with a significant injury.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who saw, heard or captured this incident, either through CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage.

"Any piece of information could vital in finding those responsible so please come forward and we will take action.

"Knife crime causes devastation in our communities and we are committed to doing all we can to reduce the risks and pursue those who bring weapons onto the streets."
