Cambridgeshire zoo enclosure reopens after toddler injured in crocodile attack

A zoo enclosure where a three-year-old boy was seriously injured after being attacked by at least one crocodile, has reopened.

The child's in a stable condition after the incident at Johnsons of Old Hurst Zoo in Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire last week.

A 30-year-old man from Norfolk was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, although he was not known to the victim and deemed not fit for interview.

The suspect has been bailed until 18th September, as detectives from the Major Crime Unit continue their investigation.

Zoo staff acted quickly to rescue the boy, providing medical assistance before he was transferred to hospital.

Det Insp Verity McCann commented on the ongoing investigation, stating, "Our enquiries are ongoing as we continue to understand the circumstances surrounding this distressing incident."
