A horror-obsessed man from Brighton killed his dad and injured two others in a "psychotic" attack after his schizophrenia medication was reduced.
Fabio Botros appeared at Lewes Crown Court this morning (12 February), pleading guilty of the manslaughter of his dad, wounding his mum with intent and attempting to cause GBH of an 11-year-old boy.
The court heard the 20-year-old, who has paranoid schizophrenia, had "hallucinations of killing people" and thought they "would be brought back to life", before the violent incident on Hartfield Avenue.
He was suffering a relapse when the attack happened on the 1st of April last year.
Botros - who was 19 at the time - took Emad Samir Botros Farag by the throat and hit him on the head with a hammer after an argument about baggage, on the morning they were due to go on holiday.
He then launched knife attack on his mum when she tried to stop him.
The 57-year-old later died from his injuries, while his mother was found bleeding heavily in the face, with a fractured skull.
An 11-year-old boy was also found with injuries outside the home.
Handing Botros an indefinite hospital order and a restriction order, the judge described how Farag was "clearly a very loving father" who did "all he could" to make sure Botros received mental health help.
