Bottled water is being supplied to thousands of homes in the south-east of England as water supplies continue to be affected in Sussex and Kent.

South East Water (SEW) has apologised to all those impacted, and said there are a number of outages across its network following Storm Goretti.

In Kent, homes in the Hollingbourne, Headcorn, Ulcombe, Kingswood and Sutton Vallance areas have been left with no water.

In an update on Sunday morning (11 January), SEW said: "We are sorry that customers are without water . This is due to neighbouring water companies being unable to give us the bulk supplies of treated water, as they normally do.

"This means our treated water storage reservoirs are running low and we anticipate this will result in low pressure, intermittent or no supply for some customers, especially those on higher ground.

A bottle water station has opened at Headcorn Aerodrome, Shenley Road, for residents to use until 10pm.

In Sussex, thousands of households in East Grinstead, Eastbourne and Upper Dicker also have no or low pressure supplies.

A number of bottled stations have been set up there, including at East Grinstead sports club on Saint Hill Road and Queensway Car Park on Queen's Road.

It's understood some areas will not see supplies restored until at least Tuesday.
