A teenager who died in a fatal house fire in Bletchley on Friday afternoon (May 30th) has been named by police.

Officers were alerted to an incident taking place at a property on St Patrick's Way at around 12:10pm.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue had already been called to the scene, but requested the presence of Thames Valley amid suspicion that there had been people inside the house.

Emergency services were called to the scene, with the fire being brought under control a short time later.

However, the force confirmed that a 15-year-old girl and 67-year-old woman had sadly died at the scene.

In an updated statement, Thames Valley Police confirmed that the teenage victim of the fire was 15-year-old Ann Eyre from the area. The 67-year-old victim is yet to be formally identified.

Speaking on the case, Labour MP for Bletchley Callum Anderson paid tribute to the victims - saying he was "incredibly saddened" to hear of the victims' deaths.

The force has urged the public to respect the victims' families' privacy, and added that a road closure on St Patrick's Way has now been lifted, allowing for the free flow of traffic once again.

An appeal has now been launched, and anyone who may be able to help in the investigation is being urged to come forward.

Those who may be able to help officers with their enquiries is being asked to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 43250265711.
