A 19-year-old man has died following a crash involving two cars in a village in Lancashire.
Emergency services were called to Preston Road in Grimsargh at around 9:55am this morning (Sunday 18th January 2026). Lancashire Police have confirmed the collision involved a green MG TF and a black Audi Q7.
The driver of the MG, a 19-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, despite the efforts of emergency services.
The driver of the Audi, a woman in her 40s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Officers say the woman is being treated as a witness in their investigation.
Preston Road was closed for a number of hours, but it has since reopened.
Detective Sergeant Matt Davidson from Lancashire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit shared his condolences with the 19-year-old’s loved ones.
“Sadly, a young man has lost his life as a result of this collision and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this incredibly difficult time,” he said.
“We know that the road being closed for a significant amount of time will have affected people’s journeys, and I want to thank those affected for their patience and understanding today whilst we responded to and began our investigation into the collision.
“Our enquiries are ongoing, and I am asking for your help with those enquiries by appealing for any information or footage that may assist us,” DS Davidson said.
“If you have CCTV or dashcam of Preston Road between Grimsargh and Preston between 9:45am and 10am today, we would be particularly interested in seeing it.
“If you witnessed the collision or the moments prior to or after the collision and haven’t yet spoken to us, please come forward and get in touch.”
