Woman killed in crash involving lorry near Dunbar

62-year-old woman has died following a crash on the A199 near Dunbar.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Tynefield junction at around 2.35pm on Wednesday after a collision involving a red Ford Fiesta and a blue Mercedes lorry.

The driver of the Fiesta was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

The road was closed for several hours while crash investigation work was carried out, before reopening at around 9.15pm.

Sergeant Mike Thomson said officers’ thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends.

He said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and urged anyone who witnessed the incident - or who may have dash-cam footage - to come forward.
