Woman, 38, arrested after single-vehicle crash in East Lothian

A woman has been arrested after a single-vehicle road crash in East Lothian.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision on Church Street, Tranent, at around 11.30am on Thursday.

A 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment and was later arrested in connection with the incident.

The road was closed following the collision but it has since reopened.

Police Scotland said on X: "Church Street in Tranent is now fully reopened following a one-vehicle crash which happened around 11.30am on Thursday January 9.

"Emergency services attended and a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital.

"She has been arrested in connection and inquiries are ongoing."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 11.42am on Thursday, January 9 to reports of a road accident at Bridge Street, Tranent.

"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters assisted emergency service partners at a collision involving one vehicle and a building.

"There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe."
