Three people have been charged following a fatal four-car crash near Edinburgh Airport.

Police have named the woman who died as 58-year-old Linda Patterson.

Emergency services were called to the collision on the A8 near Newbridge at around 9.25am on Monday.

Linda, who was driving one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family have paid tribute to a "beautiful soul" who brought "so much love and joy" to those who knew her.

"She will be greatly missed.

"We are devastated by her loss, but she will be forever in our hearts."

A 32-year-old man and two women, aged 19 and 23, have been charged in connection with the crash and are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday (Today).
