Boy, 16, arrested after man dies in Leith
A man, 22, died on Great Junction Street close to the junction with Bonnington Road on Tuesday
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the death of a 22-year-old man in Edinburgh.
Police were called to Great Junction Street at its junction with Bonnington Road at around 2.10am on Tuesday after reports a man had been injured.
Emergency services attended, but the 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Formal identification has not yet taken place.
Detective Chief Inspector Jonathan Pleasance, from Police Scotland’s Major Investigations Team, said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
"Officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries as our investigation continues, and we would urge anyone with concerns to speak to them.”
