Scotland’s largest Bonfire Night event scrapped in Edinburgh
Organisers say Fawkes Festival is taking a "planned pause" this year
Fawkes Festival at Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Centre will no longer take place this year as part of a “planned pause” by organisers.
Scotland’s largest bonfire and fireworks event, which features live music, funfair rides, a fireworks display and a laser show, was due to take place on Sunday, November 2.
Organisers said the decision to pull the plug on next month’s event was to “ensure the festival continues to meet the high standards it’s known for” – with all ticket holders to be refunded before the event returns next year.
A statement from the organisers read: “Fawkes Festival will be taking a planned pause this year as we look ahead to 2026.
“This allows our team to refresh, evolve and deliver the full-scale experience our audiences deserve.
“We understand this will be disappointing news to those who had bought tickets and were planning to come along, but we appreciate and value your understanding.
“We can’t wait to light up the sky with you again next year.”
