Edinburgh city centre is expected to be extremely busy on Thursday with several major events taking place across the capital.

As the Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe continue, AC/DC will perform at Murrayfield Stadium, while Hibernian FC face Legia Warszawa in a European tie at Easter Road.

Police are urging people to plan ahead, with road and public transport networks likely to face significant disruption.

Chief Superintendent David Robertson, Divisional Commander for Edinburgh, said: "With multiple events on in Edinburgh on Thursday, locals and visitors are advised to leave plenty of time to travel around the city.

"Transport is likely to be busier than normal so please plan your journeys in advance.

"An appropriate policing plan is in place and additional officers will be on patrol in the city."
